Description of Counter flow Pellet Cooler: The counter flow pellet cooler is used for cooling the feed pellets just coming out from the animal feed pelletizer. The feed pellet cooler can cool down the hot feed pellets from 80 - 90℃ to about 3-5℃ above ambient temperature. The cool air flow could bring away the moisture around the wood pellets thus make the feed pellets dryer. The capacity of the counterflow pellet cooler varies from 3-20t/h, suitable for cooling feed pellets in large and medium scale animal feed pellet plants. It can also be used to cool wood pellets or other granular materials.

1. Description of Counter flow Pellet Cooler:
The counter flow pellet cooler is used for cooling the feed pellets just coming out from the animal feed pelletizer. The feed pellet cooler can cool down the hot feed pellets from 80 - 90℃ to about 3-5℃ above ambient temperature. The cool air flow could bring away the moisture around the wood pellets thus make the feed pellets dryer. The capacity of the counterflow pellet cooler varies from 3-20t/h, suitable for cooling feed pellets in large and medium scale animal feed pellet plants. It can also be used to cool wood pellets or other granular materials.
2. Features of counter flow pellet cooler:
1) The counter flow cooler adopt counter current cooling principle to cool down the pellets wih high temperature and humidity, which avoid pellet cracking by the direct contact between hot pellets and cold airflow. so there is no quick chilling happens and pellet surface cracking can be prevented.
2) Use closed unloader with large inlet area, so the cooling effect is significant;
3) Adopts slide valve or tilting discharge mechanism with smooth and reliable motion, less pellets remain;
4) Low energy consumption, easy to operate.
3. How the Feed Pellet Cooler Works
• The cooling process of the pellet product begins following its entry through the airlock feeder system
• The product is then distributed with the standard distributor deflectors or optional centrifugal distributor.
• Cool air is drawn up from the bottom grate system, cooling the product and in the process, eliminating the warm air through the discharge duct.
• Adjustable level sensors are standard and maintain product bed depth.
• The cooled product is then discharged through the discharge grate. Sensors and PLC controlled discharge system provides near continuous product discharge through the discharge hopper.
